JCRC Stands with Nice
The Jewish Community Relations Council, part of the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati, is distraught to hear of the terrorist attack in Nice during Bastille Day celebrations. We mourn the 84 lives lost, we pray for the rapid recovery of all who have been wounded, and we stand in solidarity with the families of victims and the City of Nice. We are distraught that a day of celebration and festivity has been transformed into a night of violence and horror.
It has been too soon since we have released a statement condemning terror and expressing togetherness with the victims of these cowardly acts. From Tel Aviv, to Orlando, to Bagdad, to Turkey, and now to Nice, we condemn those who wish to bring terror into this world. We repeat that we must join together to fight against those who wish to sow hatred and extremism, and reap violence and death. Leaders of all faiths must join together to dispel radicalism and violence from their communities.
We lend strength to the people of France who will be suffering through the next terrible hours as they learn more about this attack and uncover the identities of fallen loved ones, and we ask for peace as we enter Shabbat to allow the world to heal.
