Why I Volunteer: Aaron Herzig
“My Jewish identity is important to me, and I want my kids’ Jewish identity to be important to them. So that means being involved in the Jewish organizations in this community.”

I am trying to learn about the Partnership2Gether between Cincinnati and Netanya. I am a volunteer in various projects and institutions in Netanya, working to strengthen Jewish identity yet I have never heard of any contact between my Conservative Congregation Bet Israel and the Reform Congregation Netan-Ya with the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati. I understand that the partnership between the two cities began 17 years ago, yet we have never had a delegation from Cincinnati contact us or visit us or even invite us to the wonderful festival that you organized about a year ago to which 500 Jews from your city visited our fair city. I would love to hear from you and your volunteers in order to learn how we can correct this situation since we are two congregations engaged as you are in mutual endeavor and shared Jewish identity, working to educate and strengthen understanding of the rich variety of religious expression in Israel. I would really appreciate your comments and suggestions.
