“Israel Beyond Camels” Talk: Save the Date
Marketing is making me say this—but it is true: When I was in the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) my job was to give historical tours of Jerusalem to other IDF soldiers. I also spent seven years in Israel as Director of the Education Department at the BINA Center for Jewish Identity and Hebrew Culture, organizing programs that reached over 15,000 people every year. I also have a M.A. with honors in Jewish Studies. If you’d like even more, my full bio is here.
What I want to do today is to invite you to hear a talk I’m giving at the JCC. Here’s the details, I’d love to see you there:
Israel Beyond Camels: What is a democratic Jewish state? How and why was Israel founded? At 7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 15, 2015, Maia Morag, Community Emissary (Shlicha) will introduce you to the fascinating country of Israel. From Israel’s diverse people to its ancient cities and distinctive culture, Morag will broaden your horizons, drawing also from her own personal experience as an Israeli native. Whether you’re planning to go on the congregation and community trip to Israel next summer, or you’re just curious to learn more about the Jewish state—and no, they don’t ride camels!—join Morag for “Israel Beyond Camels” at the Mayerson JCC.
