Cincinnati JCRC Condemns Racist Behavior at Area High Schools
On behalf of Cincinnati’s Jewish community, the Jewish Community Relations Council is appalled by the overtly racist behavior exhibited at recent high school sporting events targeting African American and Asian American students. This behavior offends us as Jews, in that it runs contrary to our Jewish and democratic values of embracing diversity and opposing discrimination and hate in all forms. We stand in support of the targeted students and their families.
As the Enquirer’s Paul Daugherty explains in his recent column, “we’re all better” than this behavior. We echo his sentiment and we stand ready to assist school communities in teaching tolerance and celebrating diversity.
