Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC)
JCRC and SAFE Cincinnati to Host Community Security Briefing
SAFE Cincinnati and the Jewish Community Relations Council will present an event dedicated to preserving the safety and security of the Cincinnati Jewish community. We have the privilege of hearing from two security experts—Special Agent of the FBI, Kevin Fisk, and Director of Community Security for SAFE Cincinnati, Mark Dowd.
Special Agent Fisk has over 13 years of experience with the FBI, serving on counterterrorism projects from Phoenix, Arizona, to Amman, Jordan. He has received the FBI Director’s Award for Outstanding Counterterrorism Investigation for his work combatting Sunni extremism while working internationally, and he currently serves as the leader of the Joint Terrorism Task Force for Southern Ohio. Agent Fisk will speak on counterterrorism efforts from national, statewide, and local perspectives.
Mr. Dowd is a retired FBI agent with over 27 years in the field. He worked in a variety of investigations from organized crime to counterterrorism, and received the Attorney General’s Director’s Award for investigating and prosecuting the Millennium Bomber, Ahmed Ressam. As the Director of Community Security for SAFE Cincinnati and a member of the Cincinnati Joint Terrorism Task Force Executive Board, Mr. Dowd will share an overview status of the SAFE program, and will provide guidance on how we all can help ensure the security of our community.
The SAFE Community Briefing will be held in the Mayerson JCC’s Amberley Room on September 1st from 7 – 8:30 PM. We hope that you will join us as we learn more about security for the Jewish community and proactive measures that will keep our institutions and individuals safe. RSVP today at jewishcincinnati.org/communitybriefing.
