New Community Building Associate Will Coordinate Chaverim M’Israel, Cincy Journeys

The Jewish Federation of Cincinnati has hired Jennifer Clark as Community Building Associate. In this role, Clark is responsible for managing the Federation’s Chaverim M’Israel (young emissaries) program and administering The Jewish Foundation of Cincinnati’s $1.2 million Cincy Journeys grant program, which awards overnight camping grants and Israel travel grants for high school and college-age students.
“Jennifer joined our team a year ago as the Chaverim Coordinator, managing the day-to-day activities of our young emissaries from Israel and serving as their guide and mentor throughout their year in Cincinnati,” said Barb Miller, Director of Community Building. “This year Jennifer will continue to manage the Chaverim program while also promoting teen and post-high school travel to Israel and overnight Jewish camping for youth, as she adds to her portfolio the administration of the Cincy Journeys grants program.
“Given that the Chaverim work primarily with youth, teens, and college students, and are often working in our day schools, camps, Hillels, congregations, and the Mayerson JCC, managing both programs is a perfect match!” Miller added. “We are very pleased to have such a thoughtful and competent professional coordinating both programs.”
Clark brings a wealth of customer service, sales, and education experience to her role at the Federation. Most recently, she was a Consumer Loan Advisor at Fifth Third Bank; she was also a Consumer Relations Supervisor for Procter & Gamble. During that time, she developed a culinary program at the Leaves of Learning school and taught cooking classes.
Clark is a board member and volunteer at Rockdale Temple, where she teaches art and Jewish cooking classes during Sunday School. She lives in Northside with her husband; they have a college-age son and daughter.
“I’m excited to work for the Jewish Federation because I love building connections between people,” Clark said. “Over the last year, as Chaverim Coordinator, I have had the pleasure of connecting two post-high school teens from Israel with more than 5,000 Cincinnatians—a truly amazing experience.
“And I am looking forward to expanding my role this year to include connecting Cincinnatians with their Jewish identities and with Israel through the Cincy Journeys grant program. It’s gratifying to work in the Cincinnati Jewish community and see the real impact of these programs through my work every day.”
