Danielle V. Minson — Raising the Bar
Our Biggest Day
It’s our biggest day, and congratulations to everyone who participated. It made me feel so good and so proud of the team that we have in place. We exceeded our goal of $100,000–and in only one hour, virtually, with a newly created, all-online system. I saw many people I hadn’t seen in a year. The drive-through pick up of coffee, bagels, and more was a big hit.
But the biggest takeaway for me was seeing the community reconnect.
Despite the sunny cold, everyone volunteering at the drive-through was smiling and reconnecting with old friends and colleagues. And the drive-through line itself was also a series of welcomes, shouts, and smiles. I loved seeing, in the backseat of one car, the little girl in a unicorn tiara, holding the Israeli flag.
It was a celebration of community with every smile in our Zoom Community Conversations, with every TikTok dance we learned and shared, and with every phone call made to help the precious community we are rebuilding. For those of you who couldn’t attend, we missed seeing you and talking with you. Here’s a brief, fun video about how it went and beautiful photos also.
Super Sunday gave me hope. We are in this together. Super Sunday this year showed us, again, how caring, generous, fun, and connected our community still is. I felt and still feel inspired about how we all take care of each other.
We rise up, and we do good, together.
