JCPA Statement on Mass Shooting in Las Vegas

The Jewish Community Relations Council of the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati is horrified and deeply saddened by this tragedy in Las Vegas. Our sincere thoughts and prayers are with the families, friends and loved ones affected. I wanted to share the following statement issued by the Jewish Council for Public Affairs (JCPA), the JCRC’s umbrella organization:

Jewish Council for Public Affairs Horrified by Mass Shooting in Las Vegas

New York, NY – The Jewish Council for Public Affairs (JCPA) condemns the horrific mass shooting in Las Vegas, Nevada, which has left at least 50 people dead and 400 more injured in what is now the deadliest shooting in our nation’s history.

“Although authorities have not yet determined whether this was an act of terror, there is no question that it has terrorized and traumatized hundreds of innocent people,” said David Bernstein, President and CEO of JCPA. “Our hearts are with the victims and their loved ones, and we pray for the full recovery of all those injured.”

“As our nation mourns this heartbreaking tragedy, we urge all Americans to stand shoulder to shoulder with their neighbors against acts of senseless violence,” said Cheryl Fishbein, Chair of JCPA. “It is imperative that we come together to address the underlying causes in the days ahead.”
